I am here

How are you?
I am fine, I am finishing a treatment period under a young dermatologist.
I have to
say I was fine with this doctor, for the first time I have found a person with
who you can talk to, a person who is really listening to you and suggesting
treatment according to your needs. So much times I have related to doctors who
saw the problem and gave me the cure without asking any question to better
understand the situation. Questions like: how long have you been suffering from
this disease, what did you tried, what worked and what not, did you had
recovery periods. Usually a dermatological check-up lasts 5 minutes, a rapid
check, a rapid treatment assignment and a detached salutation. You feel little
confident and you think you are a trouble, a bother. It shouldn’t be like that.
I have to
thank this doctor for having talked and questioned to me, for having listened
and understood me; it was like if I have been in one’s friend home and not in
one doctor’s office, the dermatologist was a friend who listened to me and
really cared about me and my problem; I didn’t feel a patient among a lot of
patients, I felt a girl who received something concrete. The medical
examination was an half-an-hour discovery
and knowledge of a really widespread but not so much well-known disease – there
are a lot of untrue thinking and ideologies and few right information.
The
dermatologist gave me a personalized cure, considering products that worked and
re-proposing products with similar active principles but not the same products.
As you may know, a product shouldn’t be used for a long time otherwise the body
is no longer able to receive active principles from the cure itself. Usually local
products can be used continuously for two-three months, in case a person does
not recover after three months of treatment, the product should be changed.
This has
been my oral treatment:
TEVA Clarithromycin 250MG – two tablets a day after two main meals for 12 days
ONE WEEK OF
STOP
PFIZER ZITHROMAX (Azithromycin) 500MG – one pill a day for 3
days
During this
treatment period with above mentioned medicines I have been used (and I am
still continuing to use) these local products:
EPIDUO 0,1%
/ 2,5% GEL – two times a day for one month
EPIDUO 0,1%
/ 2,5% GEL – one time during the evening for two months
The
dermatologist suggested to use these products for cleaning and hydration during
Summer period (and also in the morning while Epiduo Gel is used only in the
evening):
- LYSALPHA
GEL MOUSSANT PURIFIANT SVR – non-foaming gel cleanser to be used mornings and
evenings
- LYSALPHA
MATIFIANTE CRÈME SVR – mattifying cream to be used in the morning while Epiduo Gel
is used in the evening and to be used mornings and evening when treatment with
Epiduo is ended.
It is
really important to keep the skin clean and hydrated, especially while your are
treating your acne with aggressive
products for topic use and/or laser treatments.
You are not
forced to avoid sun, you just have to be careful during treatments with
photosensitive medicines; during Summer these medicines should not be used, so
a little Sun is good for the skin especially in case of oily skin.
I just want
to briefly explain what these products are composed of and how they help your acne; you can find some information of the photos I
made for you.
CLARITROMICINA
TEVA is a macrolide antibiotic useful for various infections including those of
the skin and soft tissues. You have to take 250mg twice a day (but your doctor
may increase the dose to 500mg twice daily in case of severe infections.
The
treatment lasts from 7 to 14 days and it should be
stopped two days after symptoms have disappeared. The active ingredient is Clarithromycin.
One box
costs 3 Euro and I have used two boxes.
ZITHROMAX (Azithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic useful for the treatment of infections in general, including those of the skin and soft tissues. People should take 500mg per day in a single dose for three consecutive days. The active ingredient is azithromycin dihydrate (524.11 mg per tablet - equivalent to Azithromycin 500mg base).
One box costs
8 Euro and it is enough for skin infections.
EPIDUO GEL is
indicated to treat acne and contains two active ingredients: adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. These act at the same
time but on two different fronts; the first acts on the skin processes that
cause acne and the second acts as an antibacterial principle and exerts a
soothing and exfoliating action on the outer layer of the skin.
The leaflet
suggests to use a thin layer of gel on the areas to be treated once a day
before bedtime, avoiding contact with eyes, lips and nostrils.
The product
should be applied on clean dry skin and once applied it is advisable to wash
your hands and avoid touching areas such as the eyes and mucous membranes with
dirty hands.
The product
may discolor clothes and hair.
In case of
irritation, consult a doctor who will suggest what to do.
Gel Epiduo is
e little bit expensive (36 Euro).
For the
treatment I have been following (twice a day for a month, and once a day for
two months) I have to use about two packs.
LYSALPHA GEL is a cleansing gel for oily skin. It cleanses, removes excess of sebum and should be applied on wet skin. Is composed of Gluconolactone, Zinc PCA and Tephrosia purpurea.
Lysalpha
Gel lasts long because it is not necessary to use a lot of gel to clean the
skin gently but thoroughly; it costs about 15-16 Euro.
LYSALPHA CREAM is a matting cream suitable for oily skin and for shiny skin.

The active
ingredients are the same as in purifying gel: Gluconolactone (exfoliating agent
with high-tolerability), Zinc (acts on the pores and regulates sebum production),
Tephrosia purpurea (regulates excess of sebum related to stress).
The cream
should be applied mornings and evenings on cleansed dry face and is excellent to
be put before using makeup.
Even
Lysalpha cream has a concentrated effect and you need to use a little bit of
it.
The tube
with measuring cap is perfect because it allows to use only the cream you really
need in the exact moment without permitting the contact between hands and cream
you will use thereafter. The cream costs about 13-14 Euro.
That’s all
