New treatment: TEVA Clarithromycin + ZITHROMAX (Azithromycin) + EPIDUO GEL

How are you? I am fine, I am finishing a treatment period under a young dermatologist.

I have to say I was fine with this doctor, for the first time I have found a person with who you can talk to, a person who is really listening to you and suggesting treatment according to your needs. So much times I have related to doctors who saw the problem and gave me the cure without asking any question to better understand the situation. Questions like: how long have you been suffering from this disease, what did you tried, what worked and what not, did you had recovery periods. Usually a dermatological check-up lasts 5 minutes, a rapid check, a rapid treatment assignment and a detached salutation. You feel little confident and you think you are a trouble, a bother. It shouldn’t be like that.

I have to thank this doctor for having talked and questioned to me, for having listened and understood me; it was like if I have been in one’s friend home and not in one doctor’s office, the dermatologist was a friend who listened to me and really cared about me and my problem; I didn’t feel a patient among a lot of patients, I felt a girl who received something concrete. The medical examination was an half-an-hour  discovery and knowledge of a really widespread but not so much well-known disease – there are a lot of untrue thinking and ideologies and few right information.

The dermatologist gave me a personalized cure, considering products that worked and re-proposing products with similar active principles but not the same products. As you may know, a product shouldn’t be used for a long time otherwise the body is no longer able to receive active principles from the cure itself. Usually local products can be used continuously for two-three months, in case a person does not recover after three months of treatment, the product should be changed.

This has been my oral treatment:

TEVA Clarithromycin 250MG – two tablets a day after two main meals for 12 days

ONE WEEK OF STOP

PFIZER ZITHROMAX (Azithromycin)  500MG – one pill a day for 3 days

During this treatment period with above mentioned medicines I have been used (and I am still continuing to use) these local products:

EPIDUO 0,1% / 2,5% GEL – two times a day for one month

EPIDUO 0,1% / 2,5% GEL – one time during the evening for two months

The dermatologist suggested to use these products for cleaning and hydration during Summer period (and also in the morning while Epiduo Gel is used only in the evening):

- LYSALPHA GEL MOUSSANT PURIFIANT SVR – non-foaming gel cleanser to be used mornings and evenings

- LYSALPHA MATIFIANTE CRÈME SVR – mattifying cream to be used in the morning while Epiduo Gel is used in the evening and to be used mornings and evening when treatment with Epiduo is ended.

It is really important to keep the skin clean and hydrated, especially while your are  treating your acne with aggressive products for topic use and/or laser treatments.

You are not forced to avoid sun, you just have to be careful during treatments with photosensitive medicines; during Summer these medicines should not be used, so a little Sun is good for the skin especially in case of oily skin.

I just want to briefly explain what these products are composed of and how they help your acne; you can find some information of the photos I made for you.

CLARITROMICINA TEVA is a macrolide antibiotic useful for various infections including those of the skin and soft tissues. You have to take 250mg twice a day (but your doctor may increase the dose to 500mg twice daily in case of severe infections.

The treatment lasts from 7 to 14 days and it should be stopped two days after symptoms have disappeared. The active ingredient is Clarithromycin.

One box costs 3 Euro and I have used two boxes.

 ZITHROMAX (Azithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic useful for the treatment of infections in general, including those of the skin and soft tissues. People should take 500mg per day in a single dose for three consecutive days. The active ingredient is azithromycin dihydrate (524.11 mg per tablet - equivalent to Azithromycin 500mg base).

One box costs 8 Euro and it is enough for skin infections.

EPIDUO GEL is indicated to treat acne and contains two active ingredients: adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. These act at the same time but on two different fronts; the first acts on the skin processes that cause acne and the second acts as an antibacterial principle and exerts a soothing and exfoliating action on the outer layer of the skin.

The leaflet suggests to use a thin layer of gel on the areas to be treated once a day before bedtime, avoiding contact with eyes, lips and nostrils.

The product should be applied on clean dry skin and once applied it is advisable to wash your hands and avoid touching areas such as the eyes and mucous membranes with dirty hands.

The product may discolor clothes and hair.

In case of irritation, consult a doctor who will suggest what to do.

Gel Epiduo is e little bit expensive (36 Euro).

For the treatment I have been following (twice a day for a month, and once a day for two months) I have to use about two packs.

LYSALPHA GEL ​​is a cleansing gel for oily skin. It cleanses, removes excess of sebum and should be applied on wet skin. Is composed of Gluconolactone, Zinc PCA and Tephrosia purpurea.

Lysalpha Gel lasts long because it is not necessary to use a lot of gel to clean the skin gently but thoroughly; it costs about 15-16 Euro.

LYSALPHA CREAM is a matting cream suitable for oily skin and for shiny skin.

The active ingredients are the same as in purifying gel: Gluconolactone (exfoliating agent with high-tolerability), Zinc (acts on the pores and regulates sebum production), Tephrosia purpurea (regulates excess of sebum related to stress).

The cream should be applied mornings and evenings on cleansed dry face and is excellent to be put before using makeup.

Even Lysalpha cream has a concentrated effect and you need to use a little bit of it.

The tube with measuring cap is perfect because it allows to use only the cream you really need in the exact moment without permitting the contact between hands and cream you will use thereafter. The cream costs about 13-14 Euro.

Nuova cura: CLARITROMICINA TEVA + AZITROCIN + EPIDUO GEL

Ciao ragazzi,

eccomi di nuovo a scrivere per voi.

Come state? Io sto bene, sto finendo un periodo di cura sotto un bravo dermatologo di Castelfranco Veneto.

Devo dire che mi sono trovata bene con questo medico, per la prima volta ho trovato una persona con cui dialogare che ti ascolta davvero e ti suggerisce le cure in base alle tue reali necessità. Troppo spesso ho trovato dei dottori che vedevano il problema e suggerivano la cura, senza neanche fare prima alcuna domanda per conoscere la situazione. Domande come: da quanto tempo soffri di questa malattia, cos’hai provato, cos’ha funzionato e cosa no, ci sono periodi in cui guarisci e ti senti meglio. Di solito una visita dermatologica durava 5 minuti, uno sguardo veloce, un’altrettanto rapida assegnazione di una cura e un saluto distaccato. Ci si sente davvero poco sicuri e quasi ci si sente un peso, un disturbo. Non dovrebbe essere così.

Ringrazio questo Dottore per avermi parlato, interrogato, ascoltato, capito; con lui non mi è sembrato di stare in uno studio medico ma a casa di un amico che ti ascolta e ci tiene davvero ad aiutarti a superare i tuoi problemi; non mi sono sentita una paziente tra le tante ma una ragazza a cui si è cercato di dire e di dare qualcosa di concreto. La visita è stata una mezz’ora di scoperta e di conoscenza di una malattia che è molto diffusa ma purtroppo poco conosciuta e su cui si sono tanti false credenze ed ideologie, tanti luoghi comuni e poche informazioni esatte.

Mi è stata prescritta una cura su misura, tenendo conto dei prodotti che in passato hanno funzionato e riproponendo prodotti con principi attivi similari ma non gli stessi prodotti, in quanto come sapete un prodotto non può essere usato per molto tempo altrimenti il corpo non è più in grado di recepire i principi attivi della stessa cura. Di solito i prodotti ad uso topico possono essere usati continuativamente per due tre mesi e poi nel caso in cui l’acne non sia guarito, occorre optare per un altro prodotto.

Questa è la cura che ho seguito per via orale:

• CLARITROMICINA TEVA 250MG – due compresse al giorno dopo i due pasti principali per 12 giorni
• UNA SETTIMANA DI STOP
• AZITROCIN 500MG – una compressa al giorno per 3 giorni

Durante il periodo di trattamento con i sopracitati medicinali, ho usato (e sto continuando ad usare a livello topico)

• EPIDUO 0,1% / 2,5% GEL – due volte al giorno per un mese
• EPIDUO 0,1% / 2,5% GEL – una volta alla sera per due mesi

Durante il periodo estivo, e anche al mattino da quando Epiduo gel è applicato solo la sera, mi sono state suggeriti questi prodotti per la pulizia e l’idratazione:

- LYSALPHA GEL MOUSSANT PURIFIANT SVR – gel detergente non schiumogeno da usare mattina e sera

- LYSALPHA MATIFIANTE CRÈME SVR – crema opacizzante da usare al mattino mentre si usa Epiduo gel la sera e da usare sia mattino che sera quando sarà terminato il trattamento con Epiduo.

Molto importante è tenere la pelle pulita ed idratata, soprattutto durante il trattamento aggressivo di prodotti topici per acne e/o trattamenti laser.

Il sole non è da evitare totalmente, ma solo durante il periodo di trattamento con medicinali fotosensibili; durante il periodo estivo questi dovrebbero essere sospesi per cui un po’ di sole fa bene alla pelle, soprattutto in case di pelle grassa e lucida.

Vi spiego in breve di cosa sono composti questi prodotti e come aiutano le pelli acneiche; potete comunque trovare tutte le info sulle foto che ho fatto per voi.

CLARITROMICINA TEVA è un antibiotico macrolide utile per varie infezioni tra cui quelle della cute e dei tessuti molli. Bisogna assumere 250mg due volte al giorno (ma il medico può aumentare il dosaggio a 500mg per due volte al giorno in caso di infezioni gravi.

La durata del trattamento va dai 7 ai 14 giorni e dovrebbe essere sospesa solo due giorni dopo la scomparsa dei sintomi. Il principio attivo del farmaco è la Claritromicina.

Una scatola costa circa 3 Euro ed io ne ho usate 2 scatole.

AZITROCIN è un antibiotico macrolide  utile per il trattamento di infezioni in genere tra cui quelle della cute e dei tessuti molli. Occorre assumere 500mg al giorno in un’unica somministrazione per tre giorni consecutivi. Il principio attivo di Azitrocin è Azitromicina biidrato (524,11mg per compressa – pari ad Azitromicina base 500mg).

Una scatola costa circa 8 Euro ed è sufficiente per le infezioni della pelle.

EPIDUO GEL è indicato per il trattamento di acne e contiene due principi attivi: l’adapalene e il benzoile perossido. Questi agiscono contemporaneamente ma su due fronti diversi; il primo agisce sui processi cutanei che causano l’acne e il secondo agisce come antibatterico ed esercita un’azione lenitiva ed esfoliante sullo strato esterno della pelle.

Sul foglietto illustrativo si suggerisce di utilizzare un sottile strato di gel sulle aree da trattare una volta al giorno prima di coricarsi, evitando il contatto con occhi, labbra e narici.

Il prodotto va applicato sulla pelle asciutta e pulita e una volta applicato si consiglia di lavarsi le mani per evitare di toccare zone come occhi e mucose con le mani sporche.

Il prodotto potrebbe scolorire abiti e capelli.

In caso di irritazione occorre consultare il medico che suggerirà il da farsi.

Una confezione di Gel Epiduo costa abbastanza, circa 36 Euro.

Per il trattamento da me seguito (due volte al giorno per un mese e una volta al giorno per due mesi) servono circa due confezioni.

LYSALPHA GEL è un gel detergente purificante indicato per pelli miste e grasse. Deterge, elimina l’eccesso di sebo e va applicato sulla pelle bagnata. E’ a base di Gluconolattone, Zinco PCA e Tephrosia purpurea.

Il gel Lysalpha dura parecchio perché ne basta davvero poco per pulire delicatamente ma a fondo la pelle; costa circa 15-16 Euro.

 

LYSALPHA CREMA è una crema opacizzante indicata per pelle mista e grassa e per pelli lucide.

I principi attivi sono gli stessi del gel purificante: Gluconolattone (esfoliante ad alta tollerabilità), Zinco (agisce sui pori e regola la produzione di sebo, Tephrosia purpurea (regola l’eccesso di sebo legato allo stress).

La crema andrebbe applicata mattina e sera su viso deterso e asciutto ed è un’ottima base per il trucco.

Anche la crema Lysalpha ha un effetto concentrato e ne occorre davvero poca.

Il tubetto con beccuccio dosatore è perfetto perché permette di utilizzare solo la crema necessaria senza che le mani vengano a contatto con la crema stessa se non quella che si utilizza nell’immediato. La crema ha un costo di circa 13-14 Euro.

Questo è tutto per il momento.

Ci sentiremo nuovamente quando avrò finito la cura.
